About us: Emil Chirvasuta – Owner
KDE Electric was founded in September, 2003 by Emil Chirvasuta, a High Voltage Electrical Engineer with over 20 years experience in the electrical field at that time. Emil and his family moved in August, 2003 to the countryside in the beautiful town of New Market, Virginia, escaping the traffic and stress of the Washington, DC area. Mr. Chirvasuta has had extensive work experience since he earned a Bachelor of Science in Power Electronics Engineering in 1984. During the past 24 years, he has provided electrical contracting services for numerous projects in Romania, Maryland and most recently, in Virginia.
During the 5-year period between 1999 and 2003, Mr. Chirvasuta worked for Berkeley Research Associates in Beltsville, MD as a High Voltage design engineer for different contract projects for the US Government. He found it extremely rewarding to work during these years as a key player of a professional team, executing quality work with skill and precision:
- US Army Research Laboratories, Adelphi, MD where he installed a 1 Megawatt power supply at 4200Volts.
- Naval Research Laboratories, Washington DC, where he designed and installed a 10 Kilovolts pulser.
- Arnold Engineer Air Force Base, Tullahoma TN, where he designed and installed a unique piece of equipment for nuclear industry, a counter rotating flywheel system, that mainly opens and closes a 4×4-inch valve in 80 microseconds, with the precision of 5 microseconds in a vacuum-sealed environment.
- Lockheed Martin (Titan Corporation), San Leandro, California where he developed together with the LM team an electronic board for laser triggered thirystors of 16 Kilovolts and 2000 Amps.
To give a thorough review of his past experience, Mr. Chirvasuta initially worked in his native country of Romania for several years as a Power Electronic Engineer, gaining a strong foundation in the electrical contracting work to follow. After immigrating to the US in 1993, Mr. Chirvasuta worked for 4 years as an electrician in the Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC area. During this time he obtained a journeyman’s license in the state of Virginia. His skills and work ethic attracted the admiration of all his coworkers and managers. Between 1997-1999, Mr. Chirvasuta continued to climb the ladder of success and was awarded a position as an Engineer for Virginia Accelerators Corporation in Alexandria, VA.
In recognition of his experience and knowledge, the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations of Virginia, allowed Mr. Chirvasuta to take the Master Electrician examination in June 2003. He passed on his initial attempt.
Going even more back in time, a big credit should be given to his very first years. Mr. Chirvasuta worked in Romania several years as a Power Electronics Engineer, getting a strong foundation for his career.
Trust him! Mr. Chirvasuta really knows what happens with those fancy motors, machines, installations, cables and …
you name it.
His total experience in the electrical field stretches over 20 years.
